About Caufour...

It is a nature lover’s paradise which can be explored along quiet country paths and is surrounded with woods and fields of wild flowers, orchids, butterflies and birds. You may even spot deer and wild boar! The pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela runs close by.

Caufour provides this peaceful haven and yet it is well placed for visiting the medieval bastide villages - Montcuq with its imposing tower, restaurants offering local cuisine and renowned Sunday market and Lauzerte, stunningly situated on a hill, with its pretty arcaded square.  The historic town of Cahors is only a 25 minute drive from where you can explore the vineyards and villages of the beautiful Lot valley.  Within about an hour’s drive to the south there is the famous abbey at Moissac and the rose-bricked towns of Montauban and Toulouse to discover.

    View from Caufour

There is a picturesque lake with sandy beach for swimming just outside Montcuq and many other activities available in the vicinity including cycling, golf, horse riding and fishing. You can enjoy canoeing and kayaking near Cahors. The clear night skies above Caufour are a delight for stargazers!
